They Need a Safe House

We shall be free from this oath to you which you have made us swear, unless when we come into the land, you tie this cord of scarlet thread in the window through which you let us down, and gather to yourself into the house your father and your mother and your brothers and all your father's household. (Joshua 2:17-18 NASB)

Hebrew spies were scoping out the town of Jericho. God was getting ready to give them the land. God had already given them an unlikely ally: a prostitute named Rahab.

In exchange for hiding them, they would protect her and her family. But SHE had to do something: She had to GATHER her family into the safehouse. Their lives were depending upon her and they may not have even known it.

I wonder . . .

Who is depending upon YOU?

Whose life depends upon YOUR faithfulness?

They may NOT even KNOW it!

My prayer for you today is that this burden drives you to your knees;

that you become determined to get a hold of God in prayer;

that you refuse to let go of God until God promises to bless, protect, and save those for whom you are pleading.

Grace & peace Jeff
